Dermal Fillers: How Does It Work?
Dermal Fillers are used to treat fine lines, wrinkles and folds, usually around the lower half of the face, such as around the mouth. Hyaluronic acid is naturally produced in our bodies to provide elasticity and volume to our skin. It acts like a sponge and retains large quantities of water to keep the skin plumped and soft. As we get older the level of Hyaluronic acid naturally depletes resulting in gradual volume loss and skin folds.
Most Dermal fillers are a biodegradable hyaluronic acid gel. Teosyal® is a full range of injectable dermal fillers made of non-animal origin and biodegradable hyaluronic acid. They are manufactured by Teoxane in Switzerland and recently won ‘Injectable Product of the Year, 2016” for their RHA filler range. They offer a range of products that can dramatically improve the appearance and tone of the face and are both long lasting and safe and work by replacing the skins own natural levels of hyaluronic acid. They add volume to facial tissue thereby restoring a smoother appearance to the face.
These products are suitable for areas such as the lines from the nose to the mouth (naso labial) and smile lines (marionettes), giving a filled, relaxed look and reducing wrinkles and lines. Alternatively they can be used for the lips giving a plumper fuller look. Cheek Augmentation is ideal for individuals who either want to add definition and contour to the area or for those that have noticed facial changes with the loss of volume in the cheek area.
The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes, and the results are immediately visible. A simple injection is placed under the skin at dermis level with a very fine needle, replenishing the skin’s natural volume. As Teosyal® contains a local anaesthetic, the injection causes minimal discomfort. In addition, for optimal comfort, a local anaesthetic cream is applied to the treated area 30 minutes prior to treatment.
Occasionally some people may experience symptoms such as slight swelling, bruising, redness, itching or tenderness in the treated area but these reactions are quite normal and usually disappear within one to six days.
Dermal Fillers are temporary as hyaluronic acid is eventually absorbed by the body and naturally broken down. Their effects are instant and last around 9 – 12 months, however this may vary with each client and lifestyle along with which part of the face the product is injected. There is minimal downtime with dermal fillers and you can resume most activities right away.

Anti-Wrinkle Treatment: How Does It Work?
If you want to reduce the lines on your face without having to resort to surgical procedures, the good news is that facial rejuvenation techniques can soften wrinkles for a more youthful appearance.
All of us laugh, smile and frown and over the years these actions develop facial lines and wrinkles. Botulinium Type A can be used to smooth lines and wrinkles for a younger, more rejuvenated look. Common treated areas are frown lines, forehead lines and crows feet.
The medication is injected with a very fine needle, once these injections have been administered the muscles will begin to relax and become less active and the skin will appear smoother. The treatment is quick and painless; typically lasting around 15 minutes and requires no antiseptic. Results will usually be seen in a few days, sometimes taking between 4-7 days for the effects to be seen. Your treatment also includes a review between 14 -21 days where any adjustments will be made.
As it’s not a permanent treatment, the effects will wear off over time, so it’s recommended that the procedure is repeated every 3 to 4 months for effective results.
The toxin is a prescription-only medicine and will only ever be administered following a consultation and health check by our Nurse Practitioner/Prescriber.

Profhilo is an effective and natural looking non-surgical facelift treatment. Profhilo works by stimulating your own production of collagen and elastin within your skin which, over time, aims to give you a tighter and more youthful appearance rejuvenating your skin from the deep layers up to the surface of your skin. It is composed of high concentration hyaluronic acid which is injected into the skin in a specific pattern. Two treatments are required, 4 weeks apart; the first to stimulate, the second to ‘boost’ and ensure longevity.
